I have this week’s blog about half done. I think it’s pretty good. I was going to finish if this morning and share it with all of you.

I got a call last night that a young woman who I call “one of my daughters” has been in a terrible car crash. I don’t really have all of the details yet, but apparently she lost one of her arms and her dog was killed. She’s in the hospital in Portland.

Kayla is a 28-year-old professional kiteboard instructor and lives in Hood River, Oregon. Her father is one of my best friends. If you remember, just about three years ago he’s the guy who had a stroke. This is a tragic moment for their family and our wind community.

As I’m fumbling around for some kind of wisdom, I guess this is one of those “you just never know” moments in life. So random, so tragic, so life changing, and so unplanned. Everything can change in a moment people. Snap. You just never know.

I’m just going to leave it here for now. I’ve got to pack my stuff and get to the Gorge. I’ll give you an update next week and deliver this week’s muse.

Please pray for Kayla.
